Virat Kohli is regularly brought up as a potential candidate but he still has a little way to go. Although Kohli has done several international centuries, in Test, he has placements to go to reach the 51 by Sachin. Other players such as Steve Smith and Joe Root also boast good Test records albeit not the best. Not only would such achievement require talent, but also to break the record would mean years of consistent performance. It is a hard task and nobody will be able to say whether somebody will be able to accomplish it or not unless time will come.
