hello, I'm trying to install snow leopard on an old macbook pro 2006 i5 with a usb drive, I downloaded a version of snow leopard onto a usb drive and the instructions say to boot from the usb drive, however the screen says no bootable device. Can anyone help me how to get the computer to boot from the USB drive?
i just have a question, im trying to put snow leopard on my old macbook pro. downloaded the original install disk but cant get it to boot from the usb. it says no bootable device. does anyone know how to get it to boot from the usb?
Hey guys, I have an iMac that I'm trying to install 10.8.3 onto with the original install disk that came with it. When I run the install disc and select the option to Install to hard drive, it just starts the first part of the install and waits for input, then fails to install. I've tried about 5 different discs and all of them have the same result. If I try to use the bootable USB, it will not boot. The Mac will not even try to boot from the usb. Anybody have any idea what might be wrong? I'm not very versed in this area, as I'm not a super computer guy. Thanks!
I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I'm trying to install Mac OS X Mavericks on my Mac Mini (early 2011) and I have been following the instructions on this post: http://blog.techvibes.com/how-to-install-os-x-mavericks-on-a-late-2011-macbook-pro-with-airport-extreme-ethernet-using-a-bootable-os-x-mavericks-disc/
I used to use a pc to boot from and install, and would run the bootable version of OSX on external drives in an identical manner, this time i am using a mac. and the internet says it's perfectly safe to install OSX on an external drive. and i have a usb adapter for a macbook pro which has had Yosemite on the drive, before i reformat it. i guess there is no way to know if the mac is affected by a virus attack? 827ec27edc
