Where do you guys take a used Range Rover for a proper once over before buying?
My brother in law is finally upgrading from his old Lexus and has his heart set on a 2018 Range Rover Sport HSE that he found through a friend of a friend out in Arabian Ranches, and since I'm the one in the family who supposedly knows about cars he keeps asking me where to take it for a checkup before he hands over the cash. I told him straight up I know my way around a Japanese V6 but these British trucks are a whole different animal with the air suspension and the timing chain tensioners and all the electrical gremlins that like to hide until you're three payments in and suddenly the tailgate won't open and the navigation screen is flickering like a disco light. He's already seen a few horror stories on the forums about coolant leaks from the rear crossover pipe that require the whole supercharger to come off and honestly I don't want him to end up with a driveway ornament that he can't afford to fix. I remember someone on here a while back mentioning a proper Dubai Range Rover Vehicle Inspection that actually goes through the service history with a fine tooth comb and checks the suspension calibration with a laptop, but I can't remember the name and my search history is just a mess of old threads now. Any solid recommendations from people who actually own these things and have been through the buying process here, specifically spots that won't just kick the tires and tell him the paint looks shiny but actually know what to listen for on that supercharged V6 when it's stone cold?
